Thio Xinyu adalah penyanyi - penulis lagu berasal dari Singapura yang baru saja meriliskan sebuah single bertajuk 'Hey Darlin' yang kini sudah pun berlegar di ruang strim muzik seperti Spotify dan Youtube. "Saya mula menyanyi pada usia yang muda, tetapi tidak ada yang benar-benar mengenali saya ketika itu di sekolah rendah, terutamanya kerana ia besar dan biasanya pelajar yang mendapat markah yang baik bersinar di tempat yang lain" Kata Thio Xinyu. "It wasn't until secondary school where I was given more opportunities to perform on stage. Singing on stage for the first time was such a daunting task, I was incredibly nervous. But since then I always told to myself that it is now or never".
"Saya berumur 18 tahun dan tidak akan berumur 18 tahun lagi di masa depan, jadi saya perlu merebut setiap peluang yang saya dapat sebelum terlambat. I took piano lessons at an early age too, but stopped because upcoming major exams". Tambah Thio Xinyu lagi, "Till this day I still do not know how to read the scoresheet but I learn most a songs from youtube. As well as the guitar and ukulele, it's mostly all self - taught".
"Saya juga bermain untuk sebuah band di sekolah, di mana saya kebanyakannya adalah sebagai seorang vokalis tetapi kadang-kadang semasa latihan saya akan mencuba instrumen yang berbeza dan cuba memainkannya. All of this really influenced me into eventually making my own music. I have seen celebrities like shawn mendes who started out from scratch, if they can do it, i can do it too!"
"Menyanyi selalu menjadi minat saya sejak usia muda tetapi minat saya terhadap alat muzik dan produksi muzik mula meningkat dari masa ke masa yang menyebabkan saya meriliskan 'Hey Darlin' sendiri". Sambung Thio Xinyu, "I really thank my secondary school too for giving me so many opportunities to sing and perform on stage, that really boosted my confidence overall. I also met a few other friends that really influenced me into seriously starting a music career. 'Hey Darlin' is a song describing those who have fallen head over heels for someone, but that someone is completely unaware. I definitely have a lot more work on, especially mixing and mastering, but I guess its a good start! There will be many more songs coming your way!"
